Hargeisa (Somaliland Monitor) – Chairman and KULMIYE party’s Presidential Candidate Muse Behi Abdi has urged neighbouring countries to closely review Somaliland’s call for independence, as he pointed out that it is injustice not to recognize Somaliland as an independent, free and sovereign state after 25 years of contributing the peace, stability, development and improved cooperation with the horn of African states.
Muse Behi Abdi, KULMIYE party presidential nominee and the potential successor of the incumbent president noted this on Thursday when he attended a ceremony held in Hargeisa which has been marked for Ethiopia’s 11th Nations, Nationalities and People’s day. This ceremony has also been attended by the Head Mission of Ethiopian Consulate General in Somaliland General Bereha Tesfay.
KULMIYE Chairman has likewise spoken the long time existing relationship between Somaliland and Ethiopia and the issues that both parties share and which they need to jointly keep improving its cooperation. He similarly spoke about the irrefutable role of Ethiopia in Africa generally and the horn of Africa region in particular.
“Somaliland’s values including that its people to live in peace and harmony and similarly to live peace with its neighbouring. The same we want our neighbouring states as well as International states to live in peace, stability and development and to see World with better cooperation. Somaliland believes to particularly see horn region states having better and close cooperation while they are still independent from each other and with equal status.”
“I am requesting from east African states to review Somaliland’s case and to grant its well deserved recognition, as it has contributed region’s development, peace, stability by having improved cooperated with the horn region states.”
On the other side, Muse Behi praised Ethiopian government for its efforts in stabilizing and returning things under control after the recent violence and chaos in some parts of Ethiopia.
“As General Bereha Tesfay said, the recent violence and chaos in Ethiopia have been masterminded by those who are enemies to Ethiopia. Anyone who tried to destabilize Ethiopia also tried to destabilize Somaliland and generally the horn region. Destabilizing Ethiopia means destabilizing Somaliland, Djibouti, Kenya and all the horn region states.”
