• ‘The Star’ reported WADANI leader has hinted at a possible unification with Somalia during his meeting with Somalia PM at Serena hotel in Nairobi.

Somalilandmonitor – Somaliland opposition leader Abdirahman Abdullahi and his WADANI party’s top officials and the Prime Minister of Somalia Mr. Abdirashid, during a meeting at Serena Hotel in Nairobi, was reported to have discussion on a possible reunion with Somalia, Nairobi newspaper noted.

According to Nairobi based online newspaper called ‘THE STAR’ and Radio DALSAN in Mogadishu, WADANI party’s recent delegation led by its Chairman Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro) have had a strategic meeting with the current Somalia Prime Minister Omer Abdirashid who is facing a stiff competition from the incumbent president Hassan Sheik Mahmoud in the presidential elections of Somalia Federation Government, which has been set to take place on December 28this year.

The Star Newspaper reported that Somaliland’s main opposition leader has hinted at a possible unification with Somalia ahead of next year’s elections during his meeting with Somalia Prime Minister at Serena hotel in Nairobi.

Opposition leader Abdirahman Abdullahi has reached out to Somalia Prime Minister to ensure the merger of Somalia with Somaliland. Other participants in the meeting also held at Serena Hotel on Thursday were a delegation from Somaliland, the opposition side and Somalia Prime Minister Omar Sharmarke as they have discussed merging talks. According to Star online newpaper.

RADIO Dalsan which is based in Mogadishu reported that it has learn the meeting between the two sides in Nairobi.

“The meeting also discussed on possible funding of Somaliland opposition from Sharmake’s foreign contacts and bringing the breakaway region into fold. Somalilanders on social media have stormed the opposition (WADANI) accusing them of “selling their country”. It added that Sharmarke’s meeting with Somaliland’s main opposition party has been party of his plans in boosting his campaign bid for president in the presidential election of Somalia which will be held on December 28th of this year, as he had lost hopes of influencing the Somaliland MPs in Mogadishu. Radio Dalsan added.

Speaking to the media after returning to Hargeisa, Chairman of Somaliland House of Representatives Abdirahman Irro described his delegation’s visit to Nairobi as a successful one.

“Our Visit to Nairobi was successful, as it shocked the Government. But the instead the people are satisfied with it.”

Presidential candidate of the opposition WADDANI party Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (CIRRO) announced that his party is ready to take part in the presidential election scheduled to be held on March 28/2017. And that his party has already started their campaign.
